What’s Your Life Vision?

My Journal

“Your thoughts determine your actions, your actions determine your habits, your habits determine your character, and your character determines your destiny.”

I’m blessed to lead a group of amazing women who meet at my house fortnightly on Thursdays. We’re going through a powerful study called Propel by Christine Caine. Propel’s mission is to celebrate every womens passion, purpose, and potential. The quote above was mentioned in the study last week, and it got me thinking. Life moves incredibly quickly! I want to be intentional not only in my thoughts, but in the way I’m living each day so I can get closer to my goals for the year, and get closer to my life vision.

Do you have a vision for your life? It’s so easy to live each day with no clear purpose or direction. Obviously, I’m a visual person, so while I write my goals for the year, I also have a pinterest life vision board. I should really have it printed out too! I’ve had this board for a while, and the beauty being on Pinterest, is it’s easy to change.

It’s easy to get distracted with day-to-day life and issues that arise. It’s easy to drift through life with no real purpose or direction. But it’s powerful to create a visual of what you want your life to look like.

Think about what will matter when you’re 80. Will the amount of followers you have on social media matter? Do you want to be known as someone who complained or someone who uplifted? Think about what you want to be known for. What you want people to say about you, and remember you by.

Lara Casey sums this up so perfectly –“Making progress on goals isn’t about checking something off of a list, or making perfect steps forward; it’s about growing something that lasts longer than us. When the big picture is in view, real motivation happens. Real motivation is the kind of fire you can tap into when you don’t feel like it. (Hand raised here on tapping into that a lot!) Real motivation is grace-filled, and gives you the freedom to change plans and miss a step (or ten) on the path, as long as you are still on the path.”

Amen to that! Now, I’d love to hear from you! Leave me a comment to let me know if you’re going to make a life vision board. In the words of Lara Casey, “we do not have to have it all together to live a purposeful life. Peonies grow through the dirt.”
