He took me out for the perfect picnic and while looking look out over the mountains and durring a sunset he looked at me and said… do you love me? I replied I will always love you. He then pulled out a ring he had picked the night before and wispered then we should always be together. I can never imagine my life without you.

  2. Sinéad Tyquin says:

Christmas Eve he asked my mum, dad and grandparents if he could marry me? Christmas morning he was giving me my presents (that he got from a servo) I was think where is my real present? Then he gave me a little ring box all wrapped up, I thought it was going to be earrings I unwrapped it and there was a tiny letter saying “will you marry me…. I LOVEE YOU” I was so excited I asked if he was joking? He was shaking as he was getting the ring out of his pocked. He put the ring on my finger I was so excited I still hadn’t said yes he asked me again and I said yes. BEST DAY KF MY LIFE :)

  3. Rebecca Shelton says:

I came back from Travelling January 2012 and when i finally met up with my partner at the airport he said to me this year will be our year by the end of it you will have a ring. i waited and waited, all the big occasions came and went and then i totally forgot about it . on the 24th December 2012 we went on a Cruise to Fiji as we sailed into the night on New years eve heading towards our destination Fiji at 11:50pm he cames back with a bottle of champaigne ( nothing out of the ordinary its new years after all) but then all of a sudden drops to his knee and said to me “remember how i promised by the end of the year you would have a ring, and he said those words we all wait for will you marry me” i was in so much shock i had totally forgotten at this stage but of course said yes. it will definately be a night to remember ( especially since i got my ring stuck on my finger and it blew up to twice its size and i spent the night with my finger in ice the next morning no luck and off to the medic to get my poor engagement ring cut off devestated is one word that comes to mind) but nothing ever does go smoothly and it could only happen to us…. ps my ring has been since fixed and fits perfectly.

  4. It was a couple of days before the long weekend, on a spur of the moment decision i decided toI organised a quick trip trip to Sydney with my partner to relax and spend some quality time together. We flew into Sydney Saturday morning and explored while we waited for our time slot to climb the Sydney harbour bridge( something I had been bugging him to do for months) as we begin our climb to the top we are in absolute bliss and talking, laughing and having a ball. When we finally reach the top of the bridge my gorgeous man starts gettin nervous and begins to talk about our life together and our future and finished off with the traditional ‘will you marry me?’ I said yes and cried all the way back down!! I can’t believe the effort and sneakiness he had to do to make our engagement such a special, unforgettable. amazing experience!!

  5. Caitlin brown says:

One day my partner of nearly eight years and I had a discussion about marriage and it finished with us both agreeing we were at least another couple of years away from all that. I was quite content with that and didn’t think much more of it.
A couple of weeks later we were on holiday in port douglas and he told me he had a surprise planned for one of the days. I was convinced it was something like jetskiing and was completely oblivious to what he was up to. It turned out he had organised a helicopter flight out to a sand cay on the Great Barrier Reef where we would land, have lunch and go snorkeling. I felt like the most spoilt girlfriend alive when I found out what we’d be doing so when we landed and he surprised me even further by getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him of course I burst into tears, blubbered like a baby and rambled a fair few incoherent ‘are you serious”. As it turns out he’d been planning this for over a year and I didn’t have a single clue!

  6. Taryn Linford says:

It was my partners’s birthday and we had organised some close friends and family to come over for a BBQ dinner. I was running around cleaning the house before the guests arrived and my partner asked me to come out the front of our house. I thought he wanted to show me how good he had mowed the lawn. He got down on one knee and said he wanted to take the focus off just him and make the night about us. He said will you marry me? I said ‘are you for real’, then ‘I’m not dressed for this’ (I was in cleaning clothes) then ‘yes!’ He then produced my great grandmother’s ring and said he had asked my parents for permission. Then I had to get myself ready for all the guests couldn’t stop smiling, haven’t stopped since. My partner picked in front of our house as it is our first home together and it means a lot to us.

  7. Bonnie says:

My fiancé and I had been dating for a little over 8 years when he proposed to me. It all started on one unassuming Friday night when we were sitting in our home after returning from the Botanical Gardens Moonlight Cinema. As I sat on the couch flipping through the channels on the TV, he came to sit next to me and pulled me onto his lap. The clock must have just struck midnight because he said to me, “Happy 100 Months.” It was then that I did a quick mental calculation and realised that it had indeed been exactly 100 months since the day when he became my first (and only!) boyfriend and vice versa.

The next words out of his mouth were, “honey you gotta go pack a bag.” When I asked why, he said “I’m taking you on a holiday… to Bali.” I was shocked beyond words, unbeknownst to me, he had planned a getaway for the two of us to celebrate our 100 month anniversary.

Before I knew it we were at the airport and 5 hours later we touched down in Bali where we were picked up by a driver and whisked to the beautiful Four Seasons resort where my fiancé had booked a beach view villa for us complete with our own private infinity pool. Later that night we had a romantic candlelight dinner by the beach in a private gazebo and at the end of the meal, he dropped down on one knee next to me, pulled out a beautiful ring that he had chosen all by himself and asked me to marry him. Needless to say, I said yes while blinking back a flood of the happiest tears :)

  8. Toni Bramwell says:

We were away on a fishing trip and after a hard day of fishing he asked me if i wanted to go for a walk along the beach, which i didn’t really want to but he was very persistent and i ended up going. It was starting to get dark and we had to walk trough a river to get to the beach, i was grumpy that my shorts got wet Dave turned to face me and gave me a hug and said “do you want a present to cheer you up?” and i said”yes i do” he pulled out a box from his pocket, which i thought was just earrings or a necklace because every time we disgust getting married he said he didn’t want to. I opened the box and inside was the most perfect ring that he’d picked himself, i looked up at him in disbelief and he said “i want to spent the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?” i said “YES” he then took the ring out of the box and put it on my finger, it fit perfectly. It was completely dark now and as we walked back along the beach and across the river the water glowed with phosphorescence of the sea which is caused by the presence of blooming phytoplankton, it was very magical!! :)

  9. The ‘not so romantic bride-to-be’

We were in Queensland for our friends’ engagement party. It had been a long weekend and on our last night one of our other friend’s contacted us to go out for dinner. I was keen to catch up given we wouldn’t be seeing him again for a while, but my partner was a bit more hesitant citing ‘he was tired and just wanted to spend time with me’. Always the romantic I quipped back ‘We’ve just spent the entire day together. Lets go see Josh’ and off to dinner we went….

Hours later after an enjoyable dinner with Josh we headed back to our hotel just the two of us. We were out on the balcony reflecting back on the fun weekend that had just past. I turned around to face my partner and he was down on one knee holding up a ring. Surprise got the better of me and I started swearing at him. ‘Are you serious? Are you f****** serious. If you’re not this is not funny!’ Doubt crept over his face as this obviously wasn’t the reaction he was hoping for, then I jumped into his arms and screamed yes! Figure if he still wants to marry me after thwarting his engagement dinner plans and copping the spray of abuse once he did finally pop the question… Well, that must be true love!

  10. Danica D'Souza says:

I visited San Francisco last year for a work conference and my partner decided to accompany me so that we could extend the trip into a short holiday in the US. This was set to be our first holiday together and I was very much looking forward to it!
Post the conference, we visited Vegas for some fabulous shopping over 4 days. On the second last day of our stay, my partner surprised me by booking a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. It got me excited knowing that we about to share in an incredible aerial experience of some magnificent views of the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon! Little did I suspect that it would turn out a bit more eventful than that :-)
35 minutes into the flight and flying over the tip of the Canyon – I abruptly experienced a bad case of motion sickness! I was trying hard to focus (read: appreciate the maginificent views below and not throw up at the same time!). My partner beside me was completely oblivious and I suddenly found a beautiful ring in front of my face and my partner mouthing something inaudible (our head phones were not funtioning very well). The only thought in my head at the time was, ‘Please stop talking, I’m trying to focus and not throw up all over you!’ He mistook my wild head shake as a yes and put the ring on my finger! I spent the rest of the flight to the landing base with my head in my hands and to this day I tease him stating that he conned me into wearing the ring without a yes!!!

  11. Danielle La Rive says:

My boyfriend asked me to not go to the gym and spend a day with him one summer day. I was furious being a gym junkie and all but agreed not knowing what was in store! We went out for a lovely breakfast which we hadn’t done before. He couldn’t eat all of his, which was unusual. He then said we had to go out for lunch, despite us just eating breakfast! I said ok as I love my food and we drove up to the Dandenong mountains. On the way I fell asleep and woke up at the place we had our first date. We had a lovely lunch and I was told to hurry up coz we had somewhere else to go. Why was he being so pushy? I laughed it off and we went to Sky High in the Dandenongs. We made our way to the Maze which was exciting for me! He ended up running off while I turned my head and I was left to speak to the lady who ran the maze. She asked if my name was Danielle and asked if I could please go through the maze and stop when I read the Japanese Gardens. I did so, with my heart in my mouth – I was so nervous! I found my man on one knee, shaking and holding out my rock. Now I know why he couldn’t eat and was pushy! We got our favourite drinks for the drive home – slurpees! It cooled us down on the hot summer’s day and we cuddled for the rest of the night! Definitely worth skipping the gym for! Love you baby! xx

Will and I had been together for 5 years we are what they call high school sweet hearts… On Nov 11 2012 Will proposed.

My birthday is in December and I am very impatient when it comes to presents. So I got taking to Will about it, I am a shoe freak and keep hinting at a certain pair of shoes I loved so when he said he had already got my present I was then itching to know what it was… he indicated the size of the pressie (shoe box) and knew that I was getting my shoes!! :)

So he said if I left him alone and stopped asking him questions he would give me my present early.. The day came when he said he would give me my present and sure enough the shoe box size present was all wrapped up. I sat on the couch and Will sat down in front of me… (what I didn’t realise was down on one knee) and I opened the box and there was my shoes… I gave him a massive hug and then he said “You want to take a second look at those?” so I did and one of the heels my beautiful diamond ring on it.. and I just burst in tears completely shocked which for me is huge as I am such a nosey parker for presents.

Not only did I get a ring but my shoes as well!!

After a year from hell of what would have been my future brother in law dying from brain cancer this has been the light for our families to see some happiness and to look forward to things again. 2015 wedding here we come :)

It was a very hot March day the 9th to be exact, it happened to be our 6 and a half year anniversary of being together, we went through 2 years of long distance prior.
We had organised to travel back to my Home town the Gold Coast to visit my Family with Daniel’s family for a family holiday on the 10th March so Daniel said we will go out to a early Dinner on Saturday night to celebrate the Anniversary.
I was hesitant as I knew we had to be up at 4:30am to be on a 6am flight out of Melbourne. He advised me to be ready by 4:30 and wear comfy shoes as we are walking from his office on Lygon street to my Surprise Restaurant.
He picked me up from Home and we arrived at his Office and waiting for us out front was a beautiful Horse and Carriage. I screamed “Oh can we go on? Can we check if they can take us to the Surprise Restaurant” Daniel surprisingly said “Yeah sure why not?”
So we went up to the Driver and he said “Sorry I already have a booking but they are 15 minutes late I can call my Boss and see if I can take another booking” He got on the Phone and then said “no problem I can take you to the Shrine of remembrance then to your Restaurant.” So we hopped on and when we got to The Shrine the Driver hopped off the Carriage and said “I will take some Photo’s of you 2 get off the Carriage.” We got off took Photo’s then Daniel said “Are the Horses hot?” “Should we go for a walk then come back?” The Driver said “Yeah go for a walk” We then started walking up toward the Shrine when Daniel said “What’s that over there” I looked and saw 2 Massive White Balloons behind this Beautiful old Oak Tree. I said “Daniel they look like someone’s Wedding Photo’s we can’t go over there!” He pulled me across onto the Grass and said “don’t be silly it isn’t Wedding Photo’s!” As I got closer I could see a Beautiful love heart made out of Rose Petals with White Block Timber Letters inside it saying “Will you Marry Me” as soon as I saw it tears came to my eyes and I could not stop laughing. Daniel got to one knee and said some amazing beautiful words like “Ever since the first time I held your hand in the Movies I knew I wanted to marry you” he then plucked out my ring from his pocket and put it on my Finger. He then offered me Champagne that he had left in an Ice Bucket in the Tree Trunk with 2 Champagne Glasses and a Bunch of 9 Roses. We sat on the Picnic Rug for a few minutes to catch our breath then hopped back on the Horse and Carriage and we got driven to my Favourite Restaurant Gingerboy where we were met with Champagne at the Door.

My Fiancé & I were High School Sweet Hearts, after a little break from each other we reunited!!
On Mothers day (2 beautiful little boys & 5 years later) I was treated to Breakfast in bed & showered with gifts all wrapped in boxes… After opening all my gifts in order of “value” with 2 little hands helping me along the way, it came down to my last box, I had already been so spoilt I had no idea what was going to come next. When I opened the box it was empty… with “MUMMY WILL YOU MARRY DADDY” written on the bottom of the box…. I was shocked, I looked over to my partner who was down on one knee holding the most amazing ring I had ever seen. Of course I said Yes!!!
It was such a magical moment, especially having our sons involved. We are getting married in April 2014 & could not be happier :)

Our engagement story- A trip of a life time!

We were on our first overseas holiday together enjoying five weeks of travelling throughout north and South America. Whilst we were in Peru we completed a four day trek through the Andes along the Inca trail to the ruins of Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Inca’s. It was four enjoyable but challenging days trekking in sunshine and pouring rain at times. Sleeping in tents and no showers allowing us to really get to know each other with no pretending.

On the last morning of the trek we were woken up at 4:00am to allow our porters to pack up camp and reach the first train heading back to Cusco. To fill in time before the trail opened for the day we headed to another ruin called Winaywayna to watch the sunrise over the mountains. Lucky for Izack not many other groups ventured to these ruins so it wasn’t too long before we were alone and he was down on one knee with a lolly ring shaking in his hand and asked “Will you marry me?” My initial reaction was “Are you serious?” As this wasn’t the first time a lolly ring had appeared along the trek. Only two days earlier while we were walking and having a snack Izack asked if I wanted a lolly ring. I asked “Is there a question attached to it?” He quickly replied with a prompt “Nope, you’re dreaming”. So once I realised he was serious this time I quickly changed my reply to a “Yes I will!”

After a little moment together we rejoined our group whereIi announced “We’re engaged!” and I proudly wore my lolly ring for the couple of hours it lasted trekking. Though Izack had been carrying the real ring with him for the last four weeks I was too nervous to even look at it until the end of the day when we were back in the hotel room with just the two of us.

I was on cloud nine when we reached our final destination of Machu Picchu that day and for the rest of our trip. It really was a trip of a life time and just the beginning of our adventure together!

  16. Ellie Howlett says:

A well thought out proposal is one way to totally wow a girl, and Chris truly put a lot of time and thought into the proposal. Three years to the day, Chris picked me up for our anniversary on 20/12/2012 telling me that he had planned a surprise night in the city. I was very shocked when we ended up at Eureka Sky Deck. I was even more surprised when we got to the 88th floor – I HATE heights. Chris suggested I wear a blindfold as we walked onto the deck, as it would help with my nerves.

While the deck was sliding out the three meters from the building, Chris was supposedly fixing his socks (they protect the glass from scratches). He then told me to take the blindfold off – I nervously did and there he was, down on one knee holding a silver ring and said those four words every girl dreams of hearing – “Ellie Howlett WILL YOU MARRY ME?” I forgot about my fear of heights and jumped into his arms.

As I wear gold, I was a bit shocked that he chose a silver ring, but I was even more surprised when I noticed it was engraved on the outside. At closer glance I noticed it read “ IOU 1 ring” (meaning I got to choose my dream ring!). I felt like the happiest and luckiest girl in the world.

We made our way back to the car and Chris revealed he had another surprise planned; a five course dinner on Melbourne’s Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. As we headed home, Chris told me to put the blindfold on one last time before stopping out the front of the Werribee Mansion Hotel. Our hotel room was decorated with rose petals and complete with champagne and chocolates. A perfect end to the perfect proposal on our three year anniversary. And now – six months later – we are planning our wedding on the 20/12/2014 – five years since we got together and three years since Chris proposed.

  17. Amy Upton says:

Dale and I met in primary school and have been together since grade 11. Throughout our 9 year relationship we have done many things from finishing school, uni, travelling, living in different countries for 2 years, buying a home and much more. Throughout it all it is safe to say that he has never really been able to keep a secret from me. Even when he thinks he is surprising me, I always know something is going on. That is until 6 months ago! I am still surprised he pulled it off!

My fiancé works as a personal trainer. He runs a particular Bootcamp during work hours, so it is one that he knows I will never go to. One day in October he called me after work and told me that a lady at that Bootcamp was selling raffle tickets to win a framed autographed Melbourne Storm Jersey. He said the tickets were $5 each and that he bought 8 tickets, but he felt bad so he got two for me in the women’s raffle which was “some massage thing”. Dale is the BIGGEST Storm supporter so I believed it. A few weeks later in November I got an email from a lady at his Bootcamp congratulating me on my win!! One of my tickets had been drawn as the winner of the women’s raffle!! I had won: A limousine ride for me and 3 friends from our house to Sea World, a swim with the dolphins, a DVD of the dolphin swim, 3 nights accommodation at Sun City at Surfers Paradise (my all time favourite place), $100 dinner credit, a 2.5 hour massage & facial and a 1 hour massage! I couldn’t believe it!!! The only catch was because it was a NYE prize pack, it had to be used on set dates and all the things were already booked in for specific dates. Fine by me!! The email asked for my home address so I sent it to her and called Dale to tell him. He seemed happy but more disappointed he didn’t win his storm jersey! That week on Facebook all his Bootcamp ladies were telling me that they were so jealous and that they really wanted to win! I was super excited!!

A few weeks later I received my prize pack in the mail with all my prize details. There was a letter on a letterhead with a phone number, website and everything. It was sent from the other side of town and nothing seemed odd.

A month later the time had finally come to go on our little get away. My best friends and their partners all met at our house for the Limo to pick us up. The boys went in cars while the girls travelled in style! We had a great day at sea world and I got to swim with the dolphins which is something I have ALWAYS wanted to do!! Dale won a HUGE gorilla on a game and it was just a really great day with all of my best friends there!

That night we drive to Sun City and when we got to our room it was SO awesome!! We had perfect views from our bed of the Q1 which is where the NYE fireworks were going to be! Dale got a call from our close friends and we discovered that they were also staying down the coast! What a coincidence!

The next day, NYE, we met up with them and had a relaxing day swimming and hanging out. That afternoon Dale and I had our massages in the hotel spa. They were amazing!! We went back to the hotel room and got ready for dinner. We went to dinner and as we had $100 to spend I thought it was fine to spend over that because it was basically “free” money! Whoops! Haha!

We went back to the room and I said I was tired and wanted to go to sleep. I said we could set an alarm to 11:50, watch the fireworks and go back to sleep. Dale was SO persistent that we go for a walk on the beach that eventually I gave in.

While we were out, our friends that were coincidently staying at the coast came to our room (Dale had given them a key while my massage took an extra hour and a half). They scattered rose petals and put candles that Dale had given them in a path from the hotel door to the balcony. Dale and I got back to the room at 11:50. As soon as we opened the door my heart started to race but, Dale is always pretty romantic on NYE (it’s our thing) so I didn’t want to get my hopes up – I mean I had been waiting 9 years!! We went out onto the balcony where there were more candles and rose petals. It was like a movie, Dale got on one knee with a box in his hands and said some very romantic words and finished with “will you marry me?” I cried and hugged him as as soon as I said yes fireworks went off! It was PERFECT!! After a few seconds I said “Wait, was there even a raffle?” He said “No there was no raffle!” Turns out he had had the ring for two years and had planned the whole thing! Right down to sending the “prize pack” from the other side of town to ensure the post office’s stamp seemed legit!
This time he DID surprise me!! And it was all PERFECT! :-)
We are getting married on the 29th of March 2014 – our 10 year anniversary! :-)

  18. Carly says:

We had been together for 8.5 years when we went to London, Paris and Edinburgh in December 2012. It would have been more surprising if we hadn’t gotten engaged while we were away and my poor fiance, Andre, was under strict instructions that he was NOT allowed to propose in Paris! We’d been in London for a week when he mentioned one morning that he thought we should go to Regents Park that day. I was immediately suspicious, because it was absolutely freezing that day, and I couldn’t think of any other reasons why we would go to a park in the middle of winter. When we got there, we arrived at a bridge over the lake and I thought he would do it then, but he kept walking. After awhile, we got to the next bridge and he stopped walking and turned to me. As he opened his mouth to do his speech, a bunch of tourists suddenly emerged from all sides (apparently we were not the only ones silly enough to go to Regents Park in the bitter cold). So we walked off the bridge and hung around until they left. We then walked back onto the bridge, he did his speech (which neither of us can remember a word of), I said yes and we hugged. Suddenly he pulled back from me with a look of panic on his face and said “Wait, did you actually say yes?”. Of course I had! We then literally ran off into London and chose the ring together. It was a great day and while it didn’t involve sky-writing or flashmobs, it was perfectly “us”.

  19. Sarah says:

My fiance (still so weird calling him that now) and I have been together nearly 4 years. We met on an online dating site about a month after I moved up to Auckland from Wellington and I didn’t know anyone, I never expected anything to come from it I just wanted to meet some new people. We’ve been together ever since.

About August 2012 soon after our 3rd year aniversary we started looking at rings. I thought it was just to shut me up about rings and weddings because he’s always said “one day” or “after you’ve finished study” when I’ve asked him about getting engaged (I finish my degree late this year, 2013). I thought maybe at a stretch it would happen around Christmas or New Years but definately not sooner.

For Easter this year he took me on my first overseas trip to Melbourne to see his mum for her birthday. We planned to visit the Melbourne aquarium, among other activites (shopping!), as we keep marine fish and corals and both adore Finding Nemo. He kept pressing to go there at the beginning of the trip but in the end it fitted in better the day before we left. We got there soon after the aquarium opened so it wouldn’t be so busy (lucky because as we were leaving 4 bus loads of little kids were lining up outside!), we walked through taking our time and as we were walking out under the massive shark tank he stopped me got down on one knee and produced the ring we’d looked at about 8 months earlier. All he said was he loved me and would I marry him, short, sweet and straight to the point. I can’t remember saying yes, I just grabbed the ring! About 5 minutes later when we were sitting down I asked him if I said yes or not, haha. I had this really weird feeling of excitement as soon as I woke up that day that something amazing was going to happen, I kept telling myself I was just being silly. I had no idea he had even bought the ring I wanted, let alone was planning to propose (about a month earlier I even made him go back to the shop so I could try the ring on again to remind me what it looked like, little did I know he actually bought it a few days after we first saw it). When we got back to NZ he pulled out this gorgeous rosewood ring box he had bought but couldn’t take to Aus because of having to declare it. It wasn’t the most romantic proposal but it was completely perfect for us, and apart from me just grabbing the ring I wouldn’t change a thing.

  20. Dawn Tan says:

OH MY GOODNESS! I JUST got engaged over the weekend so this would be perfect perfect PERFECT! xoxox

It was the last day of school term on Friday and I was beyond pooped out. My butt, thighs and whole body was aching from all the gazillion squats I did while teaching. ( I teach little kids art ) I’ve also just recovered from a crazy flu and my voice was still pretty low and husky from talking to all the children. As soon as school was out, I envisioned myself nicely tucked in bed, ready for a good night’s sleep. I was so tired and ready for a holiday.

However, Darren (My partner ) and I decided to go have a nice rewarding dinner and movie instead. I think part of me wanted to just enjoy the fact that school was out and it was party time. So off we went to Chapel Street for a slow casual dinner and movie. Dinner was yummy. Big chunky ribs and steak. So good but all the food made me even sleepier and I started worrying how I would stay awake throughout the whole movie. We finished dinner a littler earlier and had half an hour to kill so I told Darren I needed a walk to wake myself up. We somehow ended up deciding to take a photo booth picture (One of our favourite things to do) And Darren being the smooth operator he always is, decided it was a fantastic idea to propose WHILE the bulbs were flashing. Me being the total nerd, freaked out a little and had the funniest reaction. According to Darren, it went something like this:

Darren: Dawn Tan, will you marry me?
    Me: WHAT?! Yeah right!
I remember staring at the box, thinking how ugly it was. I wasn’t even looking at the ring! The camera flashes somehow blinded my vision a little and the box appeared like these funky ones to me. Strange because it turned out to be a lovely linen box! And as such, it didn’t click in my head that Darren was actually proposing.
Me: Oh wait! Are you sure?! Are you sure.. are you sure… (I apparently repeated this several times)
Darren: Huh??? What?! What do you mean. Yes!
Me: Oh my god! Yes! Oh my goodess! Are you sure. Ahhhh!
I then started realising oh my goodness, the ring. Because it was so dark in the photo booth, I could not for the life of me see the ring clearly. The bulbs kept going off and I was in shock and the ring appeared to be some sort of weird bronze, blackish colour and I must say I was just stunned.
    Darren: Quick show the ring!!
    Me: Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Oh my god!
Then Darren puts on the ring and gives me a big fat kiss and viola!
And the whole time, I was just so shocked, it didn’t even register in my brains that all of it was happening. It was so fast. 30 seconds to be exact!

Needless to say, I came out of the photobooth totally giddy and it did not click till about 5 minutes later that I just got engaged. And well, I started crying and jumping about a lot. (I was cold and excited at the same time) Thinking back, I must have looked like a complete idiot. Haha! We then took a few quick photos and sent it to our close friends and family. I uploaded it onto Instagram… Then we realised our movie was starting so off we went. No time to react! We laughed about how romantic we were – fancy watching an apocalyptic zombie movie 10 minutes after getting engaged! (WORLD WAR Z!!! )

Needless to say, I was trying hard not to hyper ventilate throughout the entire movie. Scary zombies + newly engaged dizziness = funky churny stomach!
Told Darren right after the movie “I NEED TO GO HOME RIGHT NOW! NEED TO POOP!!!!!” How funny/ romantic. But I guess that’s how we roll! Open, honest and never afraid to be a little silly!

Haha. Fingers crossed we get picked! ( We saw you at the bridal expo and really loved your work ) Your popcorn packet is still sitting patiently in our kitchen waiting to be cooked. We recently threw a movie marathon party at our place and I made so much caramel popcorn I can’t look at popcorn for a while now. :P

I recently moved to Melbourne form Perth, and he lived in Sydney (he subsequently realised that if he wants me, he had better move to the same city!). In the 6 months that we dated, our maximum time spent apart was 12 days; our whole relationship involved numerous flights between Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

The day he proposed, we went on a long drive, and ended up in a quaint little seaside town. We went for a walk along the water edge, and then reached a little seaplane, and he commented ‘your flight awaits you’. We went on a wonderful flight across the whole of Melbourne, and I was on cloud nine-literally!

Now, my favourite move character is King Julien from the animated movie Madagascar. My fiancé knows that one way to make me laugh is to bring out the King Julien quotes. When we landed after our flight, there was a huge package waiting for me, wrapped up in pink paper with huge pink ribbons. I opened it up, and out popped a larger than life King Julien character, and at the bottom of him it said one of his quotes: “ Surprise! The excitement is giving me the tinglies! Marry me?”
I was so excited I didn’t answer straight away, and after a few minutes the pilot said “so what is your answer?!” and I responded: “It is not even a question- of course I am going to marry the guy!”
