Last week I hosted my photography workshop, Planted with Light, for the second time at my parents house in New Zealand. I was so fortunate to welcome 15 amazing girls, and talk a little bit about my story so far and what I have learnt over the past few years about the business of wedding photography! Now, teaching and talking in front of a group don’t come naturally for me…but I’m so glad I did it. It pushed me outside my comfort zone, and I strongly believe that photographers are stronger when they are in community together. A lot of people have asked me, why do you tell your ‘competition’ your ‘secrets’? But the truth is, I don’t have any secrets! I absolutely believe that when we are real and honest with each other, we can lift each other up and create a stronger community and industry of photographers. You can learn everything online these days, but there is still something really powerful about meeting and talking face to face. We had such an amazing day, I hope you enjoy a few behind the scenes photos!

Mum and my sister Esther made all of the delicious food, My cousin Kirsti made Brie’s gorgeous bouquet, my sister Lydia was taking all the behind the scenes photos, istagramming and facebooking on the day, and being an all round amazing support to me! Thank you all SO much. Planted with Light is truly a family affair, and I couldn’t have done it without you guys so thank you from the bottom of my heart. Huge thank you also to our beautiful couple Brie and Brenton who responded to my Facebook call out to be our models for the day. You guys were incredible! I can’t wait to share more photographs from the shoot tomorrow.
