SOME BACKGROUND ON PLANTED WITH LIGHT…

Planted with Light was the name originally created for a wedding photography workshop I have run for the past 3 years from my parents country property in the Waikato, NZ (see past workshops here).

I LOVED running the Planted With Light Workshops. However, I’m currently living overseas and sadly the in-person workshops aren’t a reality this year. I know people are hungry for knowledge to make their lives and businesses better, so I decided to transition the content online for people to access wherever they are!

WHY CREATIVE SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS (NOT JUST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS)?

At the PWL workshops I would frequently have hairdressers, makeup artists, and florists sit in on the workshop. They would come up to me at the end to say there was a lot of content that was relevant to them, which they could implement in their own businesses.

Whatever creative field you are involved in…hairdressing, makeup artistry, floristry, photography, cafe owner…if you run your own small creative business, my aim is to make the content relevant to you.

MY MISSION:

To share stories and valuable content that will inspire and motivate creative small business owners to live their life and run their business with purpose, clarity and intention.

THE HEART OF IT:

I LOVE seeing creative entrepreneurs thrive (personally and financially) within their creative passion. I’ll admit it, I’m a tad nosey… I love hearing background stories of how people got to where they are.

I strongly believe no matter where we are on our journey, we ALL have something to teach, share and learn.

PLANTED WITH LIGHT PODCAST

One of the main components of the new Planted with Light venture will be a podcast (audio interview) where I will interview New Zealand and Australian based creative entrepreneurs. I am so excited about this!

Podcasts are becoming increasingly popular, I love them! Whenever you are doing something in your day that doesn’t require too much mental focus (cleaning the house, exercising, editing photographs, designing albums, making bouquets etc…) you could be listening to a podcast and learning at the same time!

WHY INTERVIEW ONLY NZ AND AUSTRALIAN CREATIVE BUSINESS OWNERS?

There are so many amazing American based podcasts, that I love to listen to (The Lively Show, The Influence Podcast, Creating your own path, and Being Boss to name a few).

However, sometimes the content can seem a little irrelevant to NZ and Australian small business owners. There are so many amazing NZ and Australian based creative entrepreneurs whose stories and valuable wisdom are currently not being shared!

I’m excited to change that. I’ve already interviewed some INCREDIBLE people, I’m excited to share their stories and wisdom with you VERY SOON.
