My new website has been launched for a couple of weeks now, but we have just relinked all of the past blog content so I wanted to do a ‘Welcome to my new space!!’ post. I’ve been working with Jessie James for nearly a year (on and off) to produce this. I honestly would have been the worst client ever (sorry Jessie!) with my constant changes, but I’m really proud of the final site! Here’s a little tour of some of my favourite spaces…

Homepage | I love how cohesive everything is now, the boxes on the right are detail shots from the video.

About | This page was SO HARD to write. Crazy hard. I’m still not COMPLETELY happy with it, but done is better than perfect, I’m trying to hold myself to a standard of grace, not perfection! It’s hard to get the balance right with an about page. I want it to be personal, but professional, I want you to get to know me, to put enough of myself out there for you to get a sense of who I am. Hopefully this does that?

Galleries | My very favourite page! I just LOVE the way my new galleries are set up. I’ve always thought it’s much more interesting to look at one wedding at a time, rather than a bunch of images from random weddings.

Inside Galleries | I love, love, love how this is set up now! On the right side of each slideshow, there is a snippet of text from the bride whose wedding I am featuring. It was important for me to have readable, truthful and relatable testimonials. I ask my brides to fill out feedback forms, so the first part of their testimonial talks about their specific hesitations when booking a photographer, and why they decided to choose me as their photographer…etc. I think this makes it more relatable than…’we love Kate, she is awesome…” which of course is GREAT, but I think this makes for a much more interesting read. I also love the little bridal blog buttons that link to the featured post if the wedding has been featured.
