My ideal day, working from home.

My Journal

On my desk where I can see it, I have written my ideal work day, hour-by-hour. I love working from home. I know it’s not everyones cup of tea, it can be lonely if you aren’t careful and you can get sidetracked easily. One of the reasons I have my ‘ideal day’ list in front of me, is to remind myself to stay on task and keep motivated during the day.

6AM – Get UP! (After a while my body clock does starts to adapt and I find that I wake up just before my alarm. This doesn’t mean it’s any easier to do – especially now in Winter!) Read this post if you are still reluctant to get up early.

6.15 AM – Make Apple Cider Vinegar hot drink and have my morning quiet time. I wrote more about this here.

7 AM – Breakfast with Sam

7.40 AM – Leave with Sam to walk 40 min to his bus to work. Run or walk home.

8.40 AM – Stretch, schedule day, blog post, emails.

9.30 AM – Gym class.

10.40 AM – Shower.

11 AM – Coffee. (Important!) Start tackling the days tasks.

1 PM – Lunch. Break from desk, do washing etc.

1.40 PM – Work

3.00 PM – Tea and dance break! Yep.

4.00 PM – Answer emails.

4.30 PM – Social media, comment and encourage others!

5.00 PM – Write or prepare blogpost, finish work.

6.00 PM – FINISH at desk! Close the office door. Start to make dinner.

7.00 PM – Sam gets home.

Note: The above schedule doesn’t always happen! It’s okay to have a rest day, or to work from dawn until dusk every once in a while. That’s a necessary part of running your own business. For me, making the decision to decide ahead of time what my ideal work day looks like and sticking to a schedule brings me more balance when I’m working from home. It’s about being intentional with my time.

I hope that sharing this will inspire you to create your own ideal work day! What would yours look like? If you want to share, I’d love to hear from you! xx

Wheres your stationery from? Looks a little like Kikki.K, a little bit like Kate Spade – there are no stores that stock the latter here in lil Chch but Ive seen it on ShopBop and theiconic.com.au. I intend on getting my hit there ;)
