If I could sum up this day in one word, it would be joyful. The room was calm where the girls were getting ready for the day, and you could feel the excitement just radiating from Geraldine. I love that her and Mark chose to do a First Look, and see each other before the ceremony. As Geraldine slowly walked towards Mark, who had his back turned, when he turned around Geraldine had the hugest grin on her face, and they were both in awe for a little while! These two are completely head over heels for each other, they weren’t reserved with showing affection, Mark made Geraldine laugh constantly throughout the day – such a joy to photograph!

After making their commitment official in a church ceremony, we went to the Hamilton Gardens where their reception was held. I had forgotten how truly incredible these gardens are! Around every corner there was a completely different themed garden, I felt like we were in England, India and Italy all in the space of an hour!

I loved that I was able to catch up with Niki & Dan, who were guests at the wedding.. AND another Kate Robinson couple! I photographed their beautiful wedding 3 years ago (it was their anniversary yesterday!) Like Niki, Geraldine is a doctor so they know each other from Med School, and they both met their husbands online! This is probably the fifth or so wedding I have photographed where the couple have met online, and I think it’s amazing! It’s fast losing it’s ‘stigma’ and this proves it really does work!

Geraldine & Mark, thank you so much for inviting me to capture your special day. I truly had such an amazing time with you both, and I hope that you are enjoying your first week as husband and wife! xx
