A weekend to myself.

A weekend to myself.

My Journal

My husband Sam went for a snow hike this past weekend, so I had a weekend to myself. I had originally thought I might be lonely…but then I decided to relax and enjoy myself! Sam had taken the car for the weekend, so I was limited to where I could walk…and who was willing to pick me up!

This is what I did:

– Went to a friends house for dinner (her husband was also on the snow hike), we talked, laughed til we cried over a bottle of wine until we glanced at the clock and were completely shocked because it was already 1.20am!

– The next day picked up coffee at the Boathouse and went for brisk walk around the river. Took some iPhone photos of the pretty water reflections.

– Stopped in at Poyntons Nursery, and discovered they also sell books in their homewares shop. Got pretty tempted to buy this one by Megan Morton. Also lingered over candles, beautifully packaged soaps, hand creams and soft woolen blankets.

– Ran a bath when I got home.

– Read ‘The Power of Less‘.

-Skype with Mum.

– Went to a girlfriends house for a delicious dinner, amazing ‘real’ hot chocolate and this movie.

Was quite a lovely weekend! By the end of it, I was definitely ready for Sam to come home, but thoroughtly enjoyed some ‘me’ time! I think it’s important to have, once in a while.

When is the last time you have had a day/weekend to yourself? What would kinds of things would you do? xx
