It was an honour to photograph their Queenstown wedding, made even more special because I photographed Grace’s sisters Jess’s wedding, 5 years ago on Waiheke Island.
The ceremony was set on the family’s private property with a backdrop of endless mountains and valleys. After making it official underneath a beautiful floral arch spun together by Sarah from The Flower Room, champagne and Gin & Tonic (G&T…get it?!) were served to celebrate this beautiful couple.
Grace and Tom cracked a bottle of Dom Perignon and toasted to becoming husband and wife. I wanted to let Grace and Tom just enjoy each other and be in the moment together, to focus on each other and the commitment they have just made. What a PRIVILEGE it was to capture two people madly in love in this incredible environment.
We landed at Millbrook Resort and bridal party was waiting for us with golf carts and it was time to celebrate and enjoy the reception! Inside the marquee, rose and peony chandeliers complimented fresh herbs and single stem flowers on the tables. Vibrant watercolour flowers printed on menu and place cards looked beautiful next to the homemade jam jars that served as guest favours.
Grace and Tom had one of the loudest and most enthusiastic welcomes from their guests I think I’ve ever experienced! The night was filled with heartfelt speeches (I may have teared up a few times…), wrapping up with an emotional first dance, and an even more emotional father daughter dance.
I walked away from this magnificent day thinking how incredibly blessed I am to capture incredibly special occasions like this. I absolutely love what I do. Thank you Tom and Grace for trusting me with your precious memories. I know you will enjoy a lifetime of joy and love together. xx
