A couple of weekends ago, Sam and I left Salt Lake City in the early afternoon on Friday. Sam had organised a little surprise getaway for us for the weekend, I had no idea where we were going but I definitely trusted Sam, and he didn’t disappoint!
Our destination turned out to be Bear Lake, on the border of Utah and Idaho. It was such a beautiful spot! Cooler than Salt Lake City which we definitely appreciated, and we were staying in the cutest BnB – Bluebird Inn. Handmade chocolates and freshly baked cookies greeted us in our room on arrival, and we had the nicest view right across the lake.
We didn’t realise, but the town was also celebrating their annual Raspberry Festival that weekend! There were a few special events on, we went to the markets, had an amazing Raspberry Milkshake, and felt very authentically American going to the Rodeo. This was definitely one of Sam’s highlights of our trip (wait until you see his excited face haha).
I was also 30 weeks pregnant, so this trip was also a little ‘babymoon’ for us before our life completely changes in a few short weeks…what! Time is flying.
After swimming in the pristine lake on Sunday morning, we regrettably started the drive back home. We had the nicest time away exploring another part of this awesome country.
