Our Singapore/Malaysia Trip!

My Journal

Some of you guys may remember that we went to Singapore and Malaysia last year. This time, it was my turn to tag along with Sam who had a Science conference at the Golden Sands hotel on Batu Ferringhi beach, near Penang. Can I just say, it was so lovely to be the one with no responsibilities! So…. my time was largely spent by the pool, devouring books and getting my tan on (didn’t work as well as I had hoped unfortunately!). My favourite part of the trip was after Sam’s conference finished we hopped on a plane to Langkawi, a small island off the coast of Penang. This island was paradise! It was less developed than Penang, and seemed less dirty. We only had two nights in Langkawi, staying at the Berjaya Langkawi Resort. I loved this hotel! Our room was in the jungle, so it was a little walk to reception and the beach, but it was totally self contained set up like a little tree hut! There were monkeys on the footpaths to keep us entertained as we walked down to the gorgoeus beach each day. It was so beautiful, there was barely anyone on it, and the sea was gorgeously clear and warm. Ahhh take me back! Seriously though, I’m not sure I could live in the humid climate! And how does anyone get any work done when it’s so beautiful and warm each day? Overall our holiday was so lovely and relaxing, I hope you enjoy some of our happy snaps! Taken on my big camera + iPhone 4S xx In Singapore… We went to the ’50 Best National Geographic Photos’ exhibition at the Art Science museum at Marina Bay Sands (that crazy building above, shaped like a ship). This is at our resort at Batu Ferringhi Beach…just having a foot reflexology massage! Apparently I eat too much sugar, work too hard and worry too much! Spot the monkey?! Penang adventures… This is in paradise (AKA Langkawi). Gondola rides… My hands down favourite moment of our trip. Relaxing in fresh water pools above a huge waterfall. Such a hard walk to get up there, but completely worth it!
