Lisa and Glenn originally were scheduled to have their engagement photographs in a park. When I’m emailing people about the location for their engagement portraits, I always encourage my couples to have the shoot somewhere where they like to hang out, or that best represents them as a couple. Lisa emailed me a few weeks before the shoot saying that they were more ‘indoors type people’ and one of their favourite things to do was go to the theatre and watch old movies together. So after having some fun walking around St Kilda and catching the last of the beautiful Autumn light, we headed indoors to the grand Astor Theatre. Lisa & Glenn are tying the knot in August, and I can’t wait to capture their special day xx

Sarah & Justin

Sarah & Justin were married at Cassels on a lovely Autumn day a few weekends ago. I hadn’t met these two (expect for Skype chats) before their wedding day, but I could tell Sarah was super organised and everything went off without a hitch! I LOVE that these guys chose to have a First Look and have photographs before the ceremony (especially great in Autumn because daylight runs out quickly!) I just love ‘first look’ moments. Sarah & Justin, I wish you all the happiness in the world xx

I met these two lovely people a few weeks ago to celebrate this moment in their relationship, that newly engaged feeling. Emma and Anthony aren’t getting married until 2014…their family is expanding! Lenny & Esther organised their beautiful wedding from the UK. From the gorgeous florals from Leaf & Honey, to the beautiful venue at Cassels every detail represented Lenny & Esther fun loving personalities, to create a lovely backdrop for what was most important – Lenny & Esther declaring their love for one another in front of their family and friends. Committing their lives to one another forever. Congratulations guys! It was such a pleasure to be with you on your special day. I hope these photographs can be the start of many amazing memories that you will have together as husband and wife xx

Charlotte & Edward

Charlotte & Edward pledged their love for one another surrounded by their closest family and friends in the sand dunes overlooking Karekare, an amazing black-sand beach on the west coast of New Zealand. Charlotte had spent her childhood just a few metres back from the beach, in the house where the reception was held and where her parents still live. When I arrived at Charlotte’s preparations at her Grandmothers house, it was like walking into a scene from a Jane Austen novel. The room was filled with shrieking girls, hand clapping games, gasps of adoration of each other and especially of Charlotte. Edward and Charlotte, what a joy it was to be part of your beautiful relaxed wedding day! Your love for one another was completely transparent – I hope this is the start of many more wonderful memories and moments together xx

I met these two at Lucy’s parents bach in Whangamata beach bright and early on a Monday morning. Lucy and Des were married a few years ago… Lucy told me that Des sang to her as she walked down the aisle! Wow. I love love love Encore sessions and I was so privileged to spend the morning with these two gorgeous people. xx

I met Rebecca & Anthony for their engagement session way back in December 2010! These two have been engaged for a while and I was so excited for them when their special day finally arrived. It was raining for most of the day, but it didn’t matter one bit. We had so much fun with you guys! Thank you for trusting me and ditching your umbrellas for a few minutes in not so ‘light’ rain… xx I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon in Port Douglas (they won their honeymoon from a competition at The Grand Wedding Show!!!) and are loving married life. Here’s to many more moments of snuggling & kissing in the rain xx

These photographs give you a bit of an idea of what my life has looked like over so far in 2012! Thank you Lydia (my amazing second shooter) for taking these…and the others which are more embarrassing! I’ve been in a wedding bubble until now…one more wedding this month, then a break until August! Well, not really a break, I still have LOADS to do including…designing albums (thank you for being so patient with me people!)…updating the website…setting up Queensberry workspace (just subscribed today, I’m excited about this one!)…updating Portrait information… + working on a few exciting projects which I’m excited to share! I’m going to miss my lovely weddings during this winter season, but I’m SO excited to have the time to work ON my business, and not just IN it. This is the time that wedding photographers across the pacific are breathing again…it’s the end of the wedding ‘season’. And as important as it is to relax, recharge and get re-inspired for another season, I encourage all you wedding photographers reading this to take advantage of this “down” time! What can you do today that is going to make your business amazing and above average? xx

I’ve just come back to Melbourne! It’s so nice seeing Sammy again. Apart from 4 short days back in NZ, this month will be mostly be spent in the land of the Aussies I’m excited for these two lovely people’s wedding next weekend, and since it’s Lydia’s 21st birthday, I’ve asked Olivia from Lily’s Make Believe to help me with this wedding. I went to design school with Olivia, and she is INCREDIBLY creative and ridiculously stylish. Check out her amazing work here. I am in LOVE with her beautiful little maps.
